Data from eMarketer shows that US adults continue to increase the amount of time they spend on mobile devices. In 2020, the average amount of time spent on mobile devices will be 4 hours, 11 minutes, compared to 3 hours, 47 minutes on browsers. image of several social media apps on a smartphone screen

The eMarketer data came from US adults, 18 years and older, and includes all time spent on internet activities on mobile devices, even if multitasking.

It is expected that mobile app time will continue to increase and will stay above pre-pandemic levels in 2021.
