According to a report from eMarketer, just under 88% of Gen Z in the US use social networks. The platforms most used by Gen Z are:

  • YouTube, used by 89%
  • Instagram (72.5%)
  • TikTok (71.2%)
  • Snapchat (70.3%)

Use of Reddit is increasing among this group, as well as Pinterest. eMarketer predicts that Gen Z Pinterest users will catch up to millennials by 2028.

Gen Z is using VR to some degree, less than other media types, but their VR activity is increasing. Marketers should keep track of this for consideration when VR technology is more prevalent.
