More People are Sharing Their Location

Additional data from CivicScience showed that:

  • 65% of Gen Z share their location, with millennials and Gen X sharing less at 45% and 42%, respectively.
  • A larger number of people (61%) share with multiple people than with just one person (39%).
  • 52% of people share their location with their partner or spouse, although 20% said they weren’t comfortable with doing so.
  • Location sharing with friends is more common than with parents or roommates.
  • Almost half (46%) of adults who say they feel lonely share their location with an individual, but only 31% of those who are not lonely or are rarely lonely do so.
